Obviously, only a healthy person can carry out passenger transportation. Moreover, this applies not only to the physical condition of the driver, but also to psychological health. What is a psychological test, who should pass a psychological test, and how much does it cost? All these questions will be answered in this article.
Who has to take psychological tests?
We should start with the fact that for many people the meaning of the term psychological test (badania psychotechniczne kierowców) is still unclear. These are specialized psychological assessments designed to examine emotional stability, reaction to stress, speed of decision-making and other characteristics. Why should you pass psychological tests to work as a taxi driver? Drivers face many stressful situations on the road, and the safety of passengers and people around them depends on their ability to react appropriately.
In Poland, psychological tests are regulated by law, and there are certain categories of persons for whom such tests are mandatory:
- Taxi drivers.
- Drivers obtaining a license of category C1, C1+E, C, C+E, D1, D1+E, D, D+E.
- Drivers who have previously been involved in an accident and found to be at fault.
- Drivers who have previously been caught for driving under the influence of alcohol.
- Drivers who have exceeded the penalty point limit during their license probationary period.
- Driving instructors.
- Drivers who are carrying cash.
Generally, such tests are required for every driver whose activity is the transportation of people or cargo. It is also worth noting that drivers must pass such a test every five years.
What are the steps of a psychological test?
We have come to the most important question, which concerns the structure of a psychological test. We want to warn you in advance that the tests may differ slightly depending on which specialist conducts them. However, in general, the test consists of 4 stages:
- Conversation with a psychologist. Any test starts with a short interview with a psychologist, where the specialist will ask you the most basic questions.
- Questionnaire. The next stage of the psychotest is the questionnaire, which includes 110 questions. The questions of the interview are developed in such a way as to assess the general adequacy of behavior, the ability to self-control and emotional stability.
- Logic tasks. At this stage, drivers are shown different pictures and asked to perform a few tasks on the ability to think logically.
- Reaction and coordination check. The reaction test is conducted on a special device with buttons, where you have to react in time to a visual signal.
Don't be afraid of the fact that there are so many tasks. Usually drivers pass this test in 1-2 hours and do very well. You can easily pass this test if you don't have serious mental or reaction problems.
Where can you pass a psychological test to work in a taxi?
